| The Parish Council would like to thank all those who turned out to help with the Jubilee Field autumn tidy on 29 and 30 October. Three areas have been successfully "blitzed" - around the pond, between the Shop and the path to Craven Common and cleaning out the ditches around the field, in preparation for the winter.
Proposed residential development on land at Fawler Road and Station Road Uffington | Redcliffe Homes have asked me to circulate this notice.
Redcliffe Homes are proposing to submit a full planning application to develop land off Fawler Road and Station Road, Uffington for up to 44 residential properties. The plans are at an early stage of development and they are keen to involve local people in shaping the final scheme.

Dates for the diary ----- | Tom Brown's School Museum
The Uffington Museum Trustees are responsible for the upkeep of the old schoolroom building & also oversee the daily running of the museum. The next meeting of the Trustees is at 7.30pm on Monday 31st October in the THMH - everyone is welcome to attend.
Wednesday Walk – 2 November
Its time for the Uffington November Wednesday walk on 2nd November.
Meeting at THMH at 9.30am and walking via Uffington Church to Longcot Church and return. A circular route passing under the railway line; basically a flat walk with one minor incline. Approx. 5 miles, 2.30hrs & 660 calories burnt!
The Autumn colours are looking great at the moment. We look forward to seeing everyone.

White Horse Garden Club – 3 November
Trees are now in their full autumnal colours so the November talk is very appropriate as we consider the trees surrounding us. Thursday 3rd November at 7.30pm in THMH.

Halloween left overs
The Vale advises that pumpkin waste should be left inside or on top of the food waste bin, so that it ends up being composted along with other food waste. People should not put pumpkin waste in any other bin, especially not in their recycling – if our crews are confronted by this gruesome horror being placed in the wrong bin, they won't collect the recycling, instead they will leave an 'Ooops' note explaining what to do.

Burglary - Uffington | Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a burglary (non-dwelling) in Uffington.
Between 00.00 – 07.34am on 19 October offender(s) gained entry to outbuildings at Britchcombe Farm and stole batteries and battery chargers.

Pumpkin Carving Workshop - 29 October | From Krista Soper:
On the 29th of October from 2 to 4 pm at the Community Garden why not come and help your child carve their own pumpkin or maybe even carve your own?
Make it as straightforward or as detailed as you want. We will have patterns you can work from, or you can just go with whatever strikes your fancy. Let your child's or your own creative juices flow. Instead of making a mess of the kitchen table at home bring your pumpkin along and make a mess in our beautiful outdoor site. There will be light refreshments available and any donations collected will be used to help support the Community Garden.
People of all ages are most welcome but for safety sake children must be supervised; look forward to seeing you!
