People aged 40 and over are now eligible for their Covid vaccine.
You're eligible if:- - you're aged 40 or over
- you'll turn 40 before 1 July 2021
- you're at high risk from COVID-19 (clinically extremely vulnerable)
- you have a condition that puts you at higher risk (clinically vulnerable)
- you have a learning disability
- you're an eligible frontline health or social care worker
- you get a Carer's Allowance, get support following an assessment by your local authority or your GP record shows you're a carer
If you're an eligible unpaid carer but you cannot book an appointment, speak to your GP surgery. Book on the gov.uk website:- Book a coronavirus vaccination - NHS (www.nhs.uk)
Note: If you've already booked a vaccination appointment through a GP or local NHS service, you do not need to book again using this service.

The Jubilee Field – a message for all parents
The Jubilee Field is a highly prized village asset maintained by the Parish Council for the benefit of all residents. The Council's policy on managing the Jubilee Field has always been to maintain a balance between providing: - A tidy, well-kept area for the benefit of all residents, especially families, children, and tourists, which is part of the overall attraction of the village, and,
- A diverse wild life-friendly area, around the edges, including the pond, where intrusive management and maintenance is kept to a minimum, to encourage and protect animals.
The Council has no wish to exclude families and children from any part of the Jubilee Field, but it is extremely disappointing to all of us if it is abused and damaged. This has happened very recently to some of the trees in the circle of oaks, caused by some teenage boys, and also to the newly planted hedge along Upper Common Lane, where people are cutting through the hedge where there is no path and damaging the plants.
Would parents please make sure that children using the Jubilee Field are aware of the need to respect it, and NOT to cause damage. If anybody sees children damaging village facilities in this way, please attempt to identify them and inform any member of the Parish Council. Please also ask children not to cut through the new hedging and encourage others not to do so, to avoid damage to the plants. Please ask them to use the well-trodden paths from Upper Common Lane onto the Jubilee Field.
Uffington Parish Council – monthly meetings for May
The Parish Council's AGM will take place at 6.00pm on Wednesday 5 May, to be followed by the AGM for the Jubilee Field Trust and then the monthly meeting. These meetings have been brought forward from the customary second Monday of the month for reasons connected with the legislation enabling meetings to be held remotely during the pandemic. Members of the public are welcome at all these meetings, which will be on Zoom. The agendas, with links to the meetings, are available on the Parish Council website, here:

Church sale
St Mary's Church will be having a cake and produce stall at the church gate (or in the porch if wet) on Saturday 15th May from 10 - 12am, to coincide with the Gardening Club Plant Trail Sale around the village. So please plan to get baking! Jams, chutney and marmalade will also be most welcome. Deliveries beforehand please to Fay Forster (3 Craven Common) or Fenella Oberman (Norton House, Broad Street) or to the church on the day.

UFFINGTON BROADBAND PROJECT
The broadband survey last November identified that there was considerable interest in better (ultrafast or gigabit as it is known) broadband in Uffington. As a result of discussions with Oxfordshire County Council's Digital Infrastructure Team with and changes in potential supplier roll-outs, Kat Foxhall and Mike Oldnall will be hosting a Zoom meeting to discuss options for the way ahead on Weds 28 April at 7.30 pm. Changes to Front Counter Provision in Thames Valley. We will soon be changing some of the ways in which you can access our front counter services across Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire. Thames Valley Police is adapting to the different ways people now wish to make contact with us to ensure we continue to meet the changing needs of the diverse communities we serve.
These changes do not affect police officer numbers nor the number of operational police bases so you will not experience any difference in the ongoing commitment we have to visible policing in our Thames Valley communities. There will continue to be good geographic coverage of front counters across the Thames Valley if you need to access one.
As part of these changes, the force will retain its front counters at Milton Keynes, Oxford, Reading, Slough, Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Abingdon, Banbury, Newbury, Loddon Valley and Maidenhead, however some will experience changes to their opening hours.
Front counters at Amersham, Bicester, Bracknell, HQ South in Kidlington, and Witney will close. These counters have already been closed since March 2020 due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, with the exception of HQ South in Kidlington, which reopened following an initial closure.
These changes, which were subject to a public consultation, will be implemented from 30 August 2021. Further details are available on our information page.
There are a number of really convenient alternative ways to contact Thames Valley Police. More and more, people contact us online and by phone. You can also access a number of our core services on our website. This includes reporting non-emergency crimes or incidents, anti-social behaviour, applying for firearms licensing, telling us about something of concern or updating us on a crime report, among many other functions.

This Sunday, 25th April, there will be a service of Sunday Praise at 10am round Uffington War Memorial. You are very welcome to join us; we will be thinking about the environment and celebrating St George. We will need to distance but all may now sing outside, which is a big improvement on several weeks ago!
