Tier 4: Stay at Home
What you can and cannot do in areas with a very rapidly rising level of infections, where tighter restrictions are in place. Updated on 30 December to clarify 'Work and volunteering'; under 'Travelling to a Tier 4 area from a Tier 1, 2 or 3 area', added a legally permitted reason to travel: 'to provide emergency assistance, and to avoid injury or illness, or to escape a risk of harm (such as domestic abuse)' and 'Where necessary, you can travel through a tier 3 and tier 4 areas as a part of a longer journey'

Oxfordshire to Move in Tier 4
It was announced today that Oxfordshire will move into Tier 4 at 00.01 on Boxing Day, i.e., one minute after Christmas Day has ended. This follows sharp rises in reported infections across the County and also increased numbers of admissions at the hospitals. December Newsletter – David Johnston MP
I hope you, your friends and your family continue to be safe and well.
I am sorry that the period we can see our friends and families at Christmas has been reduced, although I am glad that some of us will still get to see each other at least for a day. I won't be able to visit my family now but it is those on their own I most feel for, so I will be calling a few people that I know are on their own this year; I hope some of you will be able to do the same or, if you are on your own, that someone makes contact with you.

Scam warning: Fake DPD emails and texts.
Action Fraud has seen a surge in reports relating to fake emails and texts purporting to be from DPD. The messages claim that DPD was "unable to deliver your parcel today" and provide instructions on how the recipient can arrange another delivery. The links in the emails and texts lead to fake websites that are designed to steal money, as well as personal and financial information.

Dave and Rose in the Uffington Shop would like to thank all customers for their patience in complying with all government requirements for safety during the pandemic. They were congratulated recently for the measures they put in place by a Vale District Council Compliance Officer, who was (bravely) held at the door for a while because of the numbers already in the Shop! It is essential that all of us continue to comply.

Our vision is to shape a thriving Oxfordshire – achieving liveable, healthy places. It is a vision for prosperity in an enhanced natural environment and within global carbon limits. We are working in partnership to reduce emissions across the county and wish to encourage all communities and organisations to take climate action. We aim to achieve this by: - Continuing our support of Community Action Groups (CAG) Oxfordshire to expand, diversify and collaborate with civil society organisations
- Pursuing localised zero-carbon investment options
- Delivering digital connectivity, low-carbon transport and active travel schemes that support a zero-carbon ambition.
We recognise there is a role for everyone and hope this resource might support your own programme. Parish Councils have an important role to play in our journey towards a carbon-zero future and you are already doing much valuable work in your communities. I encourage you to take advantage of the schemes currently available to local communities to support your own goals on climate (please see the information sheet attached).
