Neighbourhood Plan The Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group would like to thank all residents of Baulking and Uffington who took the trouble earlier in the year to complete the questionnaire for the Housing Needs Assessment ('the HNA') for the Plan area. The analysis of the questionnaires (Housing Needs Survey) and an assessment of the future housing needs of the parishes (Housing Needs Assessment) have now been completed and are available here on the NP website: https://www.ubwnp.net/references/documents/ (Scroll down to Housing Needs Assessment May 2017) They are long and detailed documents, but you will get the flavour of each by reading the Executive Summary. Please note that the number of new houses recommended for the period from now to 2031 (19) is a minimum – not an absolute. The Steering Group looks forward to discussing the HNA and its implications for our Neighbourhood Plan at the next consultation event with all residents; this will take place on the evening of Wednesday 21 June at 7.30 pm, in the Thomas Hughes Memorial Hall. The window which wouldn't close said the victim had been affected by WannaCry Ransomware. The victim granted the fraudsters remote access to their PC after being convinced there wasn't sufficient anti-virus protection. The fraudsters then installed Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool, which is actually free and took £320 as payment. It is important to remember that Microsoft's error and warning messages on your PC will never include a phone number. Additionally Microsoft will never proactively reach out to you to provide unsolicited PC or technical support. Any communication they have with you must be initiated by you. How to protect yourself - Don't call numbers from pop-up messages.
- Never allow remote access to your computer
- Always be wary of unsolicited calls. If you're unsure of a caller's identity, hang up.
- Never divulge passwords or pin numbers.
- Microsoft or someone on their behalf will never call you.
If you believe you have already been a victim - Get your computer checked for any additional programmes or software that may have been installed.
- Contact your bank to stop any further payments being taken.
Village news 19 May 2017 Farmers Market
The Uffington Farmers Market will take place on Sunday morning. In addition to the usual stalls, the Parish Council (for the Public Art project) and Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group will both have stalls. Both will be seeking your views on the work they have done recently, so please take advantage of this opportunity to catch up and provide feedback on these village initiatives.

Postal votes
If you're registered to vote by post, you should receive your postal vote pack by 24 May. If you don't receive it by that date, call us urgently on 01235 422528. If you would like to vote by post, visit our website here and fill in a postal vote application form - your application form needs to reach us before 5pm on Tuesday 23 May
Once you've received your postal vote pack, fill it in and return it as soon as possible. If you forget, you can take your completed postal vote pack into any polling station in the Vale of White Horse district on polling day between 7am and 10pm.
