How to demonstrate your coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination status
to show that you have had a full course (2 doses) of the COVID-19
vaccine and access this status when travelling abroad.
Change made: You can now request a COVID-19 vaccination status letter
to be posted to you via the NHS.UK website. Updated: 9 June 2021

The next
Parish Council meeting
The legislation enabling local councils to hold routine meetings
remotely has expired and we understand that it will not be renewed. The
June meeting of the Parish Council has been delayed from the second
Monday of the month to Monday 21 June, and will be held in the Thomas
Hughes Memorial Hall, on a face-to-face basis, starting at 6.30 pm. The
Open Forum will commence at 7.00 pm. Subject to the expected
Government announcement on 21 June about the next relaxation of the
lockdown, the meeting will be held under the appropriate social
distancing regulations. If the regulations do not permit face-to-face
meetings, then the meeting will be held at the same time by Zoom.
Village
Celebration 30 August – Save the Date
With hopefully a further relaxation of lockdown later this month, and a
gradual return to a more normal life in July and August but no White
Horse Show, the Parish Council would like to sponsor a village
celebration on the Jubilee Field on August Bank Holiday Monday to mark
this milestone. Initial plans include:

Uffington Players
- Bring your own BBQs and
tents/gazebos
- Bring your own food and
drink
- Hog Roast and Pizzas
for sale
- Cash Bar
- Games for children –
bring your own and some organised
If you have any other ideas or would
like to organise something please just let us know.
Parking by the
Fox and Hounds
All customers of the Fox and Hounds are requested to use the car park
at the rear to prevent congestion and a potentially dangerous situation
being created at the entrance to Patrick’s Orchard where there have
been several ‘near misses’ due to vehicles being unable to see High
Street traffic when exiting.
Faringdon Food
Bank
Faringdon Food Bank have been so generously supported that they have
suspended receiving donations in order to distribute the stock they
have within the use by dates. They will let me know when donations can
once again be received. The tremendous support is greatly
appreciated.

Local Fraud
and Scams
We have received the following from Raymond Collins, Chairman of the
Ray Collins Charitable Trust, which is based in Wantage.
‘I am contacting you today after a series of attempts by individuals
from outside the area trying to defraud elderly and vulnerable
residents in their own homes. They are pretending to be from charities
like mine, The Ray Collins Charitable Trust, Food Bank and Salvation
Army to name a few, they try to charge for gardening and get card
details with PIN to attempt online purchases. They have failed as not
enough money in peoples accounts but they will try again. They are also
going into businesses and attempting to get donations from staff or patrons
saying they are from charities, no ID or official
paperwork.
Also two pairs of men have used cloned cards in several local
businesses in Wantage & Grove, sadly with some success; Police
are aware.

and joined forces with the Wantage & Grove Food Bank,
Vale Community Impact (formerly Wantage Independent Advice Centre),
Sustainable Wantage and A Helping Hand Grove & Wantage to
promote and distribute to all the local residents in the OX12 area, we
have volunteers covering Wantage & Grove area but we hoped local
groups setup for covid response although not related would be willing
to cover their villages?
Could I ask you to forward this email to your area as soon as possible
please. We are hoping to have the flyers this weekend and they can be
collected from me at Peter Ledbury's store in Grove Street Wantage or
we can drop some off if required. Thank you for your help. We
need to make everyone aware so we can all look out for each other
in these difficult times.’

Council matters
‘Move
together" launched across Oxfordshire to help vulnerable
residents. A new county-wide programme "Move
Together" has launched today and will support hundreds of
Oxfordshire residents most affected by Covid-19 to move more and
protect their health and wellbeing. The Move Together initiative
received a total of £362,975 from the Contain Outbreak Management Fund
and Active Oxfordshire will be co-ordinating it.

Councils
pledge support for #SwitchUpYourLunch campaign. On
Monday 14 June, South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District
Councils will be joining organisations across Oxfordshire by taking
part in the #SwitchUpYourLunch campaign. The campaign, run by Good Food
Oxford and Oxfordshire Greentech, asks people, companies, schools,
universities and community groups to pledge to eat a vegetarian or
vegan lunch for one day in June. You can see details on our website by
